A short walk from where we live is this crazy huge building, part of a new development called Fusionopolis. It is supposed to be a futuristic mixed-use development (the motto is 'live-work-play-learn') with service apartments, high-tech businesses, restaurants and bars, groceries, swimming pool, etc. We went there because one of the first businesses to be installed is of course a Starbucks. They sell only instant coffee at the grocery store I've been going to, so off we went for the real thing. One difference, though: the only items I have looked for that you CAN'T get in Singapore are 1. over-the-counter reading glasses and 2. half+half or cream, except for the canned Nestle variety.
