Here are a few shots of the boats just as they came in after their morning sail. They got in from Cochin, India on about 22 Dec. and then the crews could spend the holidays with their families. These boats were designed for this around-the-world race, the premier ocean race in the world. They are 70 feet long, have 100+-foot masts and can hit 40 knots; the record for greatest distance covered by a monohull in 24 hours was set by one of them. Green Dragon, 2 Ericsson boats, 2 Telefonicas and Puma. Delta Lloyd was in the repair yard and the crew of the Russian boat is sadly off in South Africa trying to raise funds to keep going.
