These fruit bats are as big as cats and not fazed by people. They hung around in the daytime, snoozing or watching the humans go by. At the Night Safari, on the other hand, they were flying and crawling around in the trees, snacking on their dinner of bananas and melons. One was holding a piece of banana in its armpit and it would take it out and have a bite, chew, lick the bits off its nose and lips, tuck the banana back under its wing, rest a minute and then repeat the process. The kids thought it was highly entertaining....
